Basic lines of activities of the RIBSP Basic engineering of viruses, bacteria and fungi, cellular biotechnology, virology aimed at achieving new scientific knowledge for the development of therapeutic and diagnostic preparations; Development of biosafety, anti-epidemic and anti-epizootic measure schemes and action plans in cases of biological terrorism with the use of especially dangerous infectious diseases; Development and enhancement of technologies for manufacturing prophylactic, diagnostic and therapeutic preparations against infectious diseases of human, animals, birds and plants; 2

Международное сотрудничество, гранты - Joining the RIBSP into the World Federation for Culture Collections (WFCC); - Entry the RIBSP into the International Consortium for Supervision of Avian Influenza Spread; - Cooperation with WHO and Center for Disease Control (CDC); - Joint projects with the International Scientific-Technical Center (ISTC) and Civil Research and Development Fond (CRDF); - On the territory of the RIBSP is commissioned BSL-3 with funding from the Agency for Biological Threat Reduction within the framework of joint researches between USA and RK. 12
