Economic Development Structure and Strategy  Role of the Office of Economic, Trade & Tourism Development – Work with partners to promote attraction of high wage, high value jobs to Orange County – Participate in the marketing and branding of the region – Negotiate and administer incentives – Manage programs funded by Orange County – Create content and manage logistics for economic development related events – Staff – Administrator and Coordinator plus a shared Administrative Assistant

Priorities  Work with the Orlando Economic Partnership to focus on regional targeted industries – Aviation, Aerospace and Defense • MS&T – BRAC mitigation, Metro Orlando Defense Task Force, MS&T Blue Ribbon Commission • Optics/Photonics – Life Sciences and Healthcare – Corporate Headquarters and Regional Offices – Innovative Technologies – Advanced Manufacturing  Entrepreneurial and Small Business Growth – Provide Orange County citizens with low to no cost business tools through strategic partnerships

Strategic Partner Program Funding  University of Central Florida (UCF) – Small Business Development Center (SBDC) – SBDC Advisory Board Council – UCF Venture Accelerator – UCF Business Incubation Program – UCF Institute for Economic Competitiveness – Central Florida International Trade Office – GrowFL – UCF Business Incubator Soft Landing Program – Florida Virtual Entrepreneur Center – Total - $803,557  Orlando Economic Partnership – Annual Funding – $681,899 – Branding - $500,000

Strategic Partner Program Funding  Black Business Investment Fund (BBIF) - $149,850  Prospera (Formerly HBIF) - $136,323  National Center for Simulation - $37,142  Metro Orlando Defense Task Force (MODTF) - $25,000  National Entrepreneur Center - $300,000  Starter Studio (Formerly FireSpring Fund) - $100,00 (one time investment in evergreen fund in 2016)  Total Annual Economic Development Program Funding: FY2018 – 2019 = $2,633,771

Events – Orange County Economic Summit • Half-day summit including economic forecast and panel discussion • Free to all citizens – TechMatch • Half-day Business Matchmaking event in partnership with Echo Interaction Group. Follows Economic Summit – Florida Simulation Summit • Partnership with the National Center for Simulation • Full day event that focuses on commercial applications of MS&T
