Advocate as local elected officials and other leaders that we are in a climate emergency 3. Develop and implement policies and strategies locally at a sufficient scale to achieve net zero energy emissions by 2030 but no later than 2050, for both public and private sectors.
Why Declare a Climate Emergency ?
Currently, more than 900 jurisdictions in 18 countries worldwide have taken the first step to scale their commitment by declaring a climate emergency resolution. In June 2019, the US House of Representatives introduced a resolution with support of six US Presidential candidates, including Senator Klobuchar, declaring a climate emergency.
