Scope • The ISO is upgrading its Financial software responsible for credit management and market clearing financial functions. • This upgrade is mandated by ISO’s software supplier in order to retain support. • There are no functional changes and market participants will not be impacted by the change. • This is the second of the two required outages to complete this upgrade. Outages • Two Outages: – #1: Minor patching and database upgrade • Completed ahead of schedule in September – #2: Final application upgrade to latest release • Start: Thursday, December 8 th at 12 noon • End: Monday, December 12 th at 8am • System will be returned to service sooner if work finishes ahead of schedule. Credit Impacts • Access to the Credit Management section of the Market Participant Portal will be disabled – Will be unable to view Aggregate Credit Limit (ACL) or Estimated Aggregate Liability (EAL) – Will be unable to print reports – ISO personnel will also not have access to this information • Collateral postings and returns will be temporarily suspended one hour before the outage and will be processed as soon as possible following the outage • Convergence bids may still be submitted – Credit check will be applied – Initial available credit amount for convergence bids will be based on the ACL at the beginning of the outage – ACL will continue to be adjusted based on accepted/cancelled bids Page 5
What You Can Do To Prepare • Access the Credit Management Portal prior to the outage to obtain your most up-to-date ACL and EAL as well as to print reports; this information will be unavailable throughout the outage period • Submit convergence bids early to ensure you have sufficient collateral and time to react to any issues prior to the outage – Convergence bids for Friday through Sunday may be submitted as early as TD-7 days prior to the start of the outage up to the close of the market on Thursday at 10am • Post additional collateral prior to the outage and/or defer collateral returns until after the upgrade to ensure you have sufficient collateral for convergence bidding throughout the outage period Page 6
What to do if you have problems during the outage • If you are unable to submit a bid, please call the ISO Help Desk immediately. – (916) 351-2309 or (888) 889-0450 – Credit and IT teams will be available to work through any issues. • Opening a CIDI case or contacting your client representative will cause delay as we are operating outside of normal business hours.
