  3. Demands Nine organizations united to find common grounds for cooperation and sharing the same roof that would meet the following demands: • Preferably the centre of the city – closeness to restaurants, bars, clubs, etc. (for most of creatives also dwelling area) • Closeness to cultural and educational institutions, other organisations of the kind • Vibrant and promising environment – architecture, surroundings, history & story, etc. • Low price, reasonable conditions • Responsive landlord having long-term interest in cooperation • Flexibility (ability to choose working space, variaty of premises for public activities) • Transportation

  4. Idea • The largest centre for contemporary culture and creative industries in the Baltics is being created in Riga (around 10’000 sq.m by 2011). • The center will house: • Leading chamber orchestra “Sinfonietta Riga”, • Latvian Contemporary Art Museum, • Creative Industries’ Incubator, • International film festival “Arsenals”, • Latvian Academy of Art, • Stockholm School of Economics, • Latvian Art Directors’ Club, • Experimental music festival “Ska ņ u mežs”, • internet portal for literature and philosophy“ Satori”. • Other institutions, initiatives – Dirty Deal center, Museum of Dolls, School of gastronomy and others. • The idea of the center was born out of neccessity to ad quality and relevance of both culture and business, to broaden the audience, to increase economy of scale
