HEALTH ROOM VISITS In order to prevent potential exposure to infectious diseases, promote isolation, and decrease office congestion please note that students do NOT need to present to the Health Office with the following common situations: ➢ Paper cuts, small abrasions, picked scabs → Have them wash hands and apply bandaid (as needed) ➢ Minor headaches and/or fatigue → Allow for snack/water first. Better after 20 mins?? ➢ Mild stomachache and/or nausea → Allow to use the restroom, drink water, have a light snack. Better after 20 mins? ➢ Localized bug bite → If no allergy history and not spread over large area of skin, apply cool paper towel to area to help prevent scratching.

HEALTH OFFICE PROCEDURES ✓ First Aid Kits will be supplied to all teachers ✓ Ensure students are sent to Health Office with a face covering in place. ✓ If a student has temperature of 100 degrees or higher OR checks ‘yes’ to any screening question, send to Health Office with red pass. ✓ Students will have a ‘pre - check’ screening completed outside the nursing office for health visits to determine which entry students will be processed through (i.e. main health office or isolation room). ✓ Encourage parents to send in change of clothes and underwear to keep in backpack and sneakers for gym days- no sneakers will be loaned out and clothing will have to be given to families not loaned. ✓ Chairs will be placed outside of nursing offices (spaced 6’ apart).

ACCORDING TO THE CDC AND PENNSYLVANIA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH GUIDANCE: • YOUR CHILD WILL NEED TO STAY AT HOME UNTIL ALL THREE OF THESE CRITERIA ARE MET: AT LEAST 10 DAYS HAVE PASSED FROM WHEN THE SYMPTOMS FIRST APPEARED. • AND STUDENT HAS BEEN FEVER-FREE FOR 24 HOURS WITHOUT THE USE OF ACETAMINOPHEN (TYLENOL) OR IBUPROFEN (ADVIL, MOTRIN). • AND SYMPTOMS ARE IMPROVING. • STUDENTS MAY RETURN IN FEWER THAN 10 DAYS IF THESE CONDITIONS ARE MET: PARENT/GUARDIAN PROVIDES VERIFIED MEDICAL DOCUMENTATION OF DIAGNOSIS OTHER THAN COVID-19 AS THE REASON FOR SYMPTOMS. • AND STUDENT HAS BEEN FEVER-FREE FOR 24 HOURS WITHOUT THE USE OF ACETAMINOPHEN (TYLENOL) OR IBUPROFEN (ADVIL, MOTRIN).
