Summer Color Guard Schedule Mondays & Wednesdays ✓ Rehearsals will be led by Erica Resurreccion ✓ Rehearsals begin on June 10 th 6:00 – 9:00 PM ✓ Members are expected to be present at summer rehearsals unless traveling or sick. Saturdays ✓ If you must miss a rehearsal, contact Erica to let her know. June 15 th & June 29 th ✓ Rehearsals focus on learning skills and 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM building technique July 6 th , July 20 th , August 3 rd 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Band Camp Schedule *** Color Guard will likely follow an alternate schedule *** DATE ACTIVITY Hours July 29 th & 30th Percussion Camp (Battery & Front Ensemble) 8:00 am – 4:00 pm July 30th Leadership Day 9:00 am – 12:00 pm ( All Marching Band Leadership) July 31 st Percussion Camp 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm (Battery & Front Ensemble) July 31st & August All Members: Visual Fundamentals 8:00 am – 12:00 pm 1st August 5 th – 9 th All Members: Band Camp 8:00 am – 5:00 pm August 12th & 13th All Members: Band Camp 8:00 am – 5:00 pm August 14th ------------- NO REHEARSAL ------------- August 15th & 16th All Members: Band Camp 1:00 pm – 7:00 pm (Bring Snacks) August 19th & 20th All Members: Band Camp 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm (Bring Snacks) August 22 nd All Members: Band Camp 4:00 – 6:00 pm

Fall After-School Rehearsal Schedule ✓ Students stay after school on rehearsal days MONDAY – 4:30 to 6:30 PM ✓ Bring appropriate rehearsal attire if school Percussion Sectionals day attire is not suitable. This includes footwear! TUESDAY – 4:30 to 6:30 PM ✓ Recommend bringing a snack to eat Full Rehearsal between end of school day and start of rehearsal ✓ Always bring your water bottle/jug WEDNESDAY – 4:30 TO 6:30 PM ✓ Instrument, equipment, drill book, and Winds Rehearsal Only music should be brought to the field for every performance ✓ Plan to START on time to END on time THURSDAY – 4:30 to 6:30 PM ✓ Rehearsals are fast-paced – stay focused ✓ Be prepared to work efficiently Color Guard Sectionals are TBA ✓ Work hard, but have fun!

Attendance Policy ✓ Color Guard Members are expected to be at Summer Rehearsals unless they are traveling or ill. ✓ Band Camp, After School Rehearsals, and Performances are mandatory! ✓ Expected absences must be arranged in advance with the Director unless there is an emergency ✓ Unexpected Absences require a note, phone call or email from parent/ guardian to the Band Director ✓ Each missed practice hinders the progress of the entire group!

Football Game Schedule ✓ Students stay after school for Friday games ✓ Report to Band Room immediately after Thursday, August 29 Broad Run vs. Tuscarora HS school (come to school prepared!) ✓ Rehearsal & Team Building time ✓ BRHSBBA provides pizza dinner for all Saturday, September 28 Broad Run vs. Urbana HS Marching Spartan members ✓ March to field together – play Fight Song ✓ Band sits in designated Band Section, by Friday, October 4 Broad Run vs. Loudoun County HS their instrument section, to play pep music ✓ Band performs field program at halftime ✓ Stay until the conclusion of the football Friday, November 1 Broad Run vs. Briar Woods HS game ✓ Parents, you aren’t required to attend, but Friday, November 8 we invite you to come out and join us in the AWAY seats next to the Band section! ✓ Pit Crew Volunteers & Football Stands Broad Run at Stone Bridge HS Chaperones are needed for each game.

Competition Schedule ✓ Competition Day itineraries are TBA until Saturday, September 21 individual competition schedules are Millbrook HS Battle on the Blue Ridge released by host schools (generally 2 weeks prior to event) Saturday, October 12 ✓ Marching Spartans meet at the school & Dominion HS Loudoun Invitational travel together by bus ✓ Pit Crew Volunteers needed to load and Saturday, October 19 unload trailer and move equipment from JMU Parade of Champions warm-up space to performance field ✓ Competition Chaperones are needed to ride Saturday, October 26 the buses and to stay with students at the VBODA Assessments at Patriot HS event ✓ Competitions are typically All Day Events, Saturday, November 2 from warm-up to performance time to Virginia Marching Band Cooperative awards State Championships in Lynchburg ✓ Hosts offer concessions for purchase

  15. Broad Run High School Band Boosters Association (BRHSBBA) A non-profit, board-led group of parents that provides funding, volunteer support and outreach for all of Broad Run’s band programs. ALL parents of students who participate in Marching Band or Indoor Programs are members of the BRHSBBA.

Broad Run High School Band Boosters Association (BRHSBBA) The Association provides almost $85,000 dollars of funding, thousands of volunteer hours, and extensive publicity each year to support BRHS band programs. • Parent meetings 1 x per month • Generally held on Tuesdays • Parents are the foundation of the Band Program! • Meetings provide up-to-date news, needs and accomplishments

  27. What To Do Now 1. New Marchers, and any returning Marchers who aren’t pre - registered, need to visit the Registration Station to complete the Online Registration process. 2. Marchers who need Dinkels need to visit the Dinkels station to be fitted or to sign up to be fitted during band camp. 3. Color Guard Members need to visit the Color Guard station to be measured for show costumes. 4. Make checks payable to BRHSBBA, or have your cash or credit card ready (Visa, MasterCard, American Express). 5. Still Have Questions? A Staff or BRHSBBA Board Member would be happy to help you.
