  6. Work done to date Public Meeting 1 and Online Survey Engagement created a forum for the discussion about programs and experiences. The goal was to reflect the residents’ ideas of a great community. We shared guiding principles on Experience, Access & Site. This provided opportunities for attendees to offer input. Public Engagement Date : Sept.1 8 20 1 7 Number of attendees : 30 Online survey date : Aug. 20 1 7 Number of responses :350

Work done to date Public Meeting 1 and Online Survey The consultation process indicated support for the project as a whole with what was a strong desire expressed for the following activities: • Skating • Aquatics • Learning • Passive exercise • Creating • Socializing • Viewing The input reveals the desire for a centre that is oriented to passive activities; a neighborhood focus as opposed to a regional centre suited for training or competition.

  8. Work done to date Perkins&Will MBTW RFP for Design Consulting Services closed in September 20 1 9 and Consultant Award in December 20 1 9. Perkins & Will with MBTW were the successful proponents. The Perkins & Will team consists of a group of dedicated consultants who have vast experience in the design of community facilities throughout Ontario and beyond. Notable completed projects include: Aaniin Community Centre and L ibrary – Markham Oak Ridges Community Centre – Richmond Hill York Recreation Centre – Toronto Cornell Community Centre and L ibrary - Markham Meadowvale Community Centre - Mississauga

Work done to date Tours: Learning from Others Design Team, City of Vaughan / Vaughan Public L ibraries toured 6 facilities prior to starting design including: Aaniin Community Centre and Library – Markham Oak Ridges Community Centre – Richmond Hill York Recreation Centre – Toronto Meadowvale Community Centre and Library – Mississauga North Thornhill Community Centre, Pleasant Ridge Library – Vaughan Vellore Village Community Centre, Vellore Village Library – Vaughan

There will be access to skate change rooms, seasonal washrooms, and mechanical and equipment support for the skate trail.
