Candy Apples and Popsicles SaraMae H .
Candy Apples • Candy Apples were created in New Jersey by a man named William Kolb. Kolb was experimenting with cinnamon hard candy and dipped some apples into it. He then placed them in the window for display for 5 cents each. It then started selling and became popular.
Popsicle • In 1905, an 11 year old boy was making a popular treat. The treat was mixing soda water, powder, and water. The boy left the mix outside with the stirring stick still in it. It froze that night, and the boy showed his friends. 17 years later the boy makes it again and starts selling it around town. He then sold the recipe to the Popsicle company.
Commons/Differences Both the Candy Apple and Popsicle were made in the 1900s. They were created in different states though, candy apple in New Jersey, Popsicle in California. They are popular worldwide and are sweet treats. They are both on sticks too.
