Unit Statistics • Unit founded in 1975 – History of Excellence – Over our 40 years of existence we have received two Outstanding Unit, eight Honor Unit, and fourteen Distinguished Unit awards. • Last two years - Distinguished Unit • Currently have 104 cadets / 45-22-23-14 – 111 First Semester – Only 98 cadets in Last Unit Inspection 2013-2014 • Were on probation for less than 100 cadets • Received “ Exceeds Standards” on inspection • AFJROTC M ission: Develop citizens of character, dedicated to serving our nation and community

Wellness • Every year our unit partakes in the Presidential Fitness T est 3 times – September, January, and M ay • Our unit is taking new strides toward physical health and working to better PFT scores. • Corps Goals for Wellness: At least 50% of corps achieve the 40 th Percentile or higher on the PFT • Fitness Events. – SLS – Unit Lock In – Unit Jamboree

  7. Presidential Fitness Test (PFT) • 1 mile run • Shuttle Run • Sit and Reach • Sit Ups • Push Ups • 25% cadet corps w/ 40 th percentile for the 1 st PFT test • 37% for the 2 nd PFT test

Drill Team • 45% of corps is on Drill T eam; Consists of 47 cadets total. • Practice starts in August and end in April from 0630-0730. • 7 competitions planned for this year (Xavier, M id-West Nat’l) • This year hosted 4th Annual Drill M eet on 10 Dec 16. • Drill T eam Staff Organization • Outstanding drill member recognized for their outstanding work on drill team with the J.P . White M emorial Drill Award

  9. Color Guard • 60 Color Guards and more scheduled • Events have included (but are not limited to): - School Board M eetings and City Council M eetings – 9/ 11, Veteran’s Day and M emorial Day Events – School Football and Basketball Games – School Events – Reds Games – Parades – And more!

Co-Curricular Activities • CyberPatriot Team • Ladies in Leadership • KittyHawk Air Society • Drill Team • Color Guard T eams • Flag Folding T eams • Park Clean-up Teams • School Community Service – Science Fair Clean-up/ Set-up – Pre-School Extravaganza – Literacy Night • Relay For Life Team

  11. Academics • Our unit takes academics very seriously. To participate in many events an academic eligibility is required. – 1 st Semester: 17% with 3.5 GP A or higher – 2 nd Quarter: 40% with 3.0 GPA or higher • KittyHawk Air Society • Some incentives for academic excellence are: – Uniform decorations (Gold cord, academic ribbon, etc.) – M ilitary Ball, Washington D.C., Drill Competitions

  12. Field Trips • Wings of Women: 15 cadets • Aviation Day: 83 cadets • Bataan Death M arch: 45 cadets • Washington D.C.: 40 cadets • Wright-Patterson AFB/ M useum Trip: 80 cadets • Drill T eam Overnight: 40 cadets

Community Service Our unit partakes in a lot of community service - Last year we well exceeded our goal of 1800 with 2468 hours We help at events such as: – STEM in the Park Honor Flights The Locker – HH Fish Food Drive Veteran’s Orgs clean-up/ dinners – Fourth of July at Cloud Park – School Events • Science Fair Clean-up/ Set-up • Pre-School Extravaganza • Literacy Night • Participation rate – 1 st Quarter 86% ; 67% 5+ hrs – 2 nd Quarter 83%; 75% 5+ hrs

Recruiting • Ladies in Leadership • Summer Leadership (Elementary Schools) School – Awareness Class – PT everyday for an – 6 th grade girls hour – Flag folding demo – Leadership and • Weisenborn 8 th Graders Aerospace Intro Lesson – Presentation – Orienteering – Uniform variation – First Aid – Cadet of each AS level • Freshman Orientation – Presentation – Color Guard Demo

They are apart of many teams and clubs: – Warriorettes 3 – Drama Club 4 – Football 3 – NHS 2 – Volleyball 2 – Academic Team 1 – Soccer 1 – School Cabinet 1 – Cross-Country 1 – Y earbook Club 1 – Tennis 1 – Golf 1 – Cheerleading 1 – Basketball 1 – Swimming 2 – Wrestling 1 – Track and Field 1 – Softball 1
