Introduction Cloud computing allows sharing of information without users investing too much money in under- used resources Many people own mobile devices Mobile Cloud Computing allows access to data where there is no data center Demonstrate application of an educational scenario Security measures are necessary
Importance of Research Mobile clouds would be useful for people on the go To make the clouds more practical, security needs to be present K12 and Higher Education require high security measure for delivery, availability and confidentiality in virtual education environment Software for education doesn't need to be installed on every computer
Research Questions How do we ensure that services are available to all users across the globe? How do we maintain privacy and ensure that the end users maintain their privacy since their data may be stored in a mobile cloud environment rather than their personal device? What affect will mobile cloud computing have on the performance of obtaining internet services (availability, attacks and speed of access) due to the increased traffic?
Mobile Cloud Computing Web Server and Storage Using Android Mobile Servers Background Mobile Cloud FreeBit Co Ltd http://www2.servesman.net/ w.b.fuller-node • Webhosting • Cloud Resource Management Users • Cloudswitch Technology WebDAV Serversman Mobile • Remote Cloud Server Access Application • Backup Cloud Storage • Cloud Webserver • Cloud Storage
Methodology Procedure Tools Cloud environment will be replicated Hardware by installing Serversman on the Android smartphone phone Android tablet WebDAV will be installed on the Software tablet and linked to Serversman Serversman@Android 2.0 β Security measures (delivery, WebDAV (Web-based availability of information and Distributed Authoring and confidentiality) will be configured Versioning) into the mobile cloud Prototype educational tool will be deployed in a cloud environment. Testing of various cloud actions on 2 devices will be done.
Software Utilized Serversman enables users to share and publish data for Android phones via the Internet Access phone data through browsers Delivers a “ cloud server in your pocket ” WebDAV facilitates collaboration between users in editing and managing documents and files stored on web servers Remote access and backup storage
Results Actual experimentation hasn’t happened due to hardware failure Tools were recently fixed To maintain privacy, have a login Identified scenarios: education and translation
Summary Incorporation of security measures in a mobile cloud environment that provides educational services Mobile cloud has been developed in prior work but security isn’t present A cloud computing environment made from mobile devices will be improved, tested, and documented Practical scenarios for where this kind of environment can be used have also been identified
Future Work Experimenting with how to encrypt data Use a mobile cloud for translation in foreign countries
