BOCIT Activities BOCIT meets regularly to solicit operator input for: • bus acquisitions • bus updates • modification requests • operator work environment • proposed changes to the fleet 3
Mirror Configuration • APTA Review • The team looked at all the configurations • The team conferred with fellow operators Decided: convex mirror should be located below the flat mirror 4
Ergonomic Design BOCIT used data from ergonomic studies conducted to determine operator work environment improvements Data included results from: • Pedal angle and force application • Steering wheel diameter • Whole body vibration • Reach distances and switch positioning 5

Changes for the 3200’s • 18 inch steering wheel • Turn signal floor switch placement • Kneel switch relocation • Rear door external porch light • Kneel & ramp warning tones fixed at 85 decibels • Accelerator pedal pressure reduced 7
