Spring 2014 Leadership Team adopts Universal Supports: Behavioral Awareness: Provide clear behavioral expectations according to setting Daily Choice Making: Provide opportunities to make choices in daily life Individualized Schedules: Develop a preferred daily routine with each individual Communication Enhancement: Communicate with each individual in preferred mode of communication
Spring 2014 Pilot Programs: 3 programs selected (2 residences & 1 day hab) 3 separate training sessions to ensure all staff trained First 2 and half day training (additional day for managers) conducted Reid and Parsons curriculum and power point used. Work books given to all trainees.
Summer 2014 Training revised: DDS develops 6 hour staff training in Universal supports BAMSI adopts DDS training and decides that all staff (including nurses) will receive this training. Abandon Reid and Parsons training
Fall 2014 Universal Team: First Universal Team meets – composed of cross section of staff from 3 pilot program (also includes coach, clinician, and QM staff) Universal Team reviews team responsibilities, duties, expectations Review data from QUIC Review use of QUIC: frequency of use, use as feedback tool to ensure PBS principles in active, continuous use Team will begin to identify who will need Targeted and Intensive Supports
