Why Hi High T Tech P Park? k? • The Azerbaijan economy is undergoing reform with the government new strategic approach for the Vision 2020, and also the strategic roadmaps for development of national economy and main economic sectors • The economy is moving from over-dependent on oil and gas to laying the framework for the non-oil sector to grow and flourish • Education system is focused on developing job takers, rather than job makers • Existing gap and a need to bridge this gap between innovations / ideas in science & Technology on one-hand and commerce on the other • A clear need for tools, schemes, and systems for organizing innovation, talents, entrepreneurship, globalization, missing education, cooperation, growth and networking

Hi History a y and O Organi anization • November 2016: Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) High-Technologies Park (HTP) was established by the decree of President of Republic of Azerbaijan • March 2017: ANAS HTP was legally founded as “ANAS High Technologies Park” LLC under the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences • April 2017: ANAS HTP formalizes its funding through the budget of Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan • May 2017: ANAS HTP fully started to its operations

Suppor ort a t area eas • To monetize public investments in knowledge and research through creating high added value jobs, stop the brain drain in science and technology, promote investments in R&Ds, and increase areas for tax contributions. We achieve this by supporting: • Science and Technology innovative startup ideas • Acceleration of SMEs and Growing Enterprises • Commercialization of research ideas • Service development and marketing • Technology transfer hub

Str trategic ic r role ole a and p pos ositio ion • ANAS HTP strategic approach is as a “ game-changer ”, moving from the traditional way of doing business in Azerbaijan –Triple Helix (Academia – Public Sector – Business) and into the Quad-Helix (Academia – Public Sector – Civil Society – Business) • HTP role is to create an ecosystem where all these players can interact, manage the ecosystem for the development of pilot innovative activities, add an external and outward looking dimensions

Where we we wo work • ANAS HTP is attached to the Academy of Sciences which has it’s head office in Baku, the capital city of Azerbaijan. However, ANAS HTP operates as an independent entity in accordance with its legal status. • Location: Main office located on 22 hectares area of land with the Technology Transfer and Business Incubation & Entrepreneurship Offices located at the Academic city, center of Baku (Academic city is home to 30 000 students, 3 universities and 20 research institutes). • Capacity: 12000 staffs, 2000 PhDs, 360 STEM Labs, 47 Research Institutes.

What w t we e of offer • ANAS HTP has special incentive offers and services for techno park residents and business incubator residents: • Production, Storage and Office spaces with R&D / Central Express Lab and assembly facilities • Business support services, business model development, local marketing, intellectual property rights, sourcing support from investors • Eligibility to subsidized rent on offices, facilities and land • Tax exempt of the 18% VAT on imported infrastructural and technological goods and services • Profit tax / custom exempt for 7-year period of operations in the park
