Program History The City of Dallas implemented Safelight program to reduce high number of right angle collisions and related injuries/fatalities due to red light running. • City of Dallas started the program in 2006 with a 10 year contract. • In 2017, the City of Dallas went into a new contract with a new vendor for 8 years. • Our current program has 29 intersections with active 51 Red Light camera. 2 Mobility Solutions, Infrastructure and Sustainability

Legislative Action On March 20th, 2019, Department of Transportation attended the Senate hearing on behalf of the City of Dallas to oppose the SB 653. We testified against the bill and presented the programs benefits. No votes were taken that day. An action from the committee is pending. 8 Mobility Solutions, Infrastructure and Sustainability
