HO HOSPITALITY: PRACTICAL COOKERY Hospitality: Practical Cookery introduces learners to the exciting and demanding world of the Hospitality industry. It develops a range of practical based cookery skills for life and for work. People with these skills and knowledge are well placed to undertake further training at college or move straight into thecatering workplace. This is a mainly practical based course which allows Pupils to develop a knowledge and understanding of foods and cookery related skills to use at home, in the wider community or in possible future employment in theHospitalityindustry On undertaking the course pupils will be develop skills that will provide a strong foundation for their future coursework at National4/5 level.

FASHION & TEXTILES Fashion & Textiles, as the name suggests introduces pupils to the Fashion and Textile industry. The knowledge and skills acquired will be valuable for life and for the world of work. People with these skills are well placed to undertake training or courses in further education on leaving school, or move directly into the fashion/textile industries to developtheirskills further on thejob. The main purpose of the course is to develop the practical skills, construction techniques, knowledge and understanding which supports activities in the fashion/textileindustry.

ART ¡& ¡DESIGN Expressive Art& Design allows learners to develop their personal thoughts and ideas in a visual form. Pupils will look at the work of artists, their influences, their materials and their techniques. Pupils will select stimuli and produce analytical drawings and studies, They will research and develop their thoughts and ideas in 2D and/or 3D. They will produce observational drawings and studies and develop their expressive ideas and compositions. Overall pupils will gain experience in using a range of media and styles in the production of a range of creative and thought provoking work.
