Our Aim s • To inspire people to appreciate the beauty of the night sky • We do this through the images that we take, and our educational outreach
Dark Sky-Friendly Lighting • We are reviewing Cornwall Council’s lighting
Dark Sky-Friendly Lighting • Nobody has to change their lights! • We will produce a simple guide to encourage good practice e.g.: • Point lights downwards • Turn lights off when not needed, maybe use a timer/ sensor • Only light where necessary • When lights need changing consider light pollution
Next Steps • Consultation until 2 nd May 2016 • Review of responses in early May • If there is support: • Cornwall Council formal consideration 21 July 2016 • Bid submission to IDA August 2016 • Response from IDA • Future management required
