  6. “Silkroad, Path to Development” Duties and Responsibilities – 1 To develop Regional Development Plans and relevant strategies, To conduct Regional Situational Analysis (Economic, Social, Environmental and Infrastructural) To conduct researches in order to determine the resources and opportunities of the region, to accelerate economic and social development and to increase the competitiveness To promote business and investment opportunities of the region, in cooperation with relevant organizations, at national and international levels, To support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as well as new entrepreneurs through cooperation with relevant institutions on issues such as management, production, promotion, marketing, technology, finance, organization and workforce training, To enhance co-operation between the public sector, private sector and NGOs, as for the realization of the objectives of regional development 6

  7. “Silkroad, Path to Development” Duties and Responsibilities – 2 To coordinate and follow up official procedures for the purpose of finalizing permits, licenses and other administrative processes for the investors, To promote the activities related to bilateral or multilateral international programs in the region that Turkey participated and contribute to the development of the projects within the scope of these programs, To provide technical support to the planning works of local governments, To watch other projects carried out by public sectors, private sectors and non-governmental organizations that are deemed crucial for the regional plans and programs, To contribute to the development of regional capacity related to region's rural and local development in accordance with the regional plans and programs and support projects in this context To support activities and projects that ensure the implementation of regional plans and programs; to monitor and evaluate implementation process of activities and projects supported in this 7 context
