Honor First, Win or Lose The Agua Fria Athletic Mission is to use athletics to teach and expose student-athletes to positive, life-long Owls Athletics lessons on character, fair play, team work, Mission pride, self-confidence and discipline that can be translated to academic performance, the field of competition, and real world experiences.

Athlete Requirements: Cleared in Register My Athlete to Play: AIA Physical ❏ Brainbook Concussion Test ❏ Birth Certificate ❏ Consent to Treat ❏ Insurance: All student-athletes are required to have insurance. Families that ❏ need assistance may access a 3rd party insurance provider Participation Fee: Due in the Bookstore before the first Contest/Game ❏ ❏ $100 per Athlete per Sport $50 per Athlete for Free & Reduced ❏

Athlete Requirements: Uniforms: All Uniforms are property of AFHS ❏ Must be returned at the end of each season ❏ Charge in Bookstore if not/ damaged ❏ Senior Uniform Checkout Process ❏
Transportation Student-Athletes are required to travel to and from all athletic events via school/district provided transportation. Exceptions will only be made with prior approval through the athletic office (emergency situations only).
Guidelines for Sidelines We appreciate your support Coaches Coach ❏ and ask/expect that all parents (and spectators) allow for the coaches to Parents Support ❏ coach the players without interference. Positive support and cheers are PLAYERS PLAY ❏ encouraged.
All parents are required to sign prior to student athletes competing in a regular season contest. In the event there is an issue the following will occur in this order: 1. Student-Athlete discusses with Coach 2. Student/Athlete/Parent discusses with Coach 3. Student/Athlete/Parent/Coach meet with AD 4. Parent/Coach/AD meet with the Principal Parent Contract Playing time is non-negotiable and is up to the discretion of the coaching staff. All student-athletes will be provided opportunities to compete for playing time during practice.
Code of Conduct Student-Athletes and Parents are required to sign the code of conduct prior to competing in a regular season contest. This form was signed as a part of registration. Student-Athletes are required to follow the guidelines for behavior set forth by the AFUHSD at all times. This agreement is in effect both during the season and the off-season for all four years. Students may be disciplined according to district policy for violations both on and off campus. Please see the code of conduct for details. Violations include but are not limited to: ● Drugs, Alcohol and tobacco/electronic smoking devices on or off campus ● Steroid or performance enhancing drugs ● Participation in behavior that is considered detrimental to the team ● Illegal acts, insubordination, inappropriate use of social media, etc. Violations may result in suspension or removal from the team.
Social Media Agua Fria has established a expectations regarding social media behavior. Inappropriate posts “likes”, “tweets”, Contract “retweets” etc. may result in suspension or removal from the team. All student-athletes and parents are required to sign the social media contract prior to participation in a regular season contest. Please see the contract for details. Character Matters Agua Fria High School is a Character Matters school and represents the “Character” foundation in the Owl Way. Students will receive character education on a weekly basis through lessons from coaches on teamwork, positive relationship building, integrity and character. Booster clubs are encouraged and support at Booster Clubs and AFHS. Booster clubs must be approved by the site Fundraisers Principal and board approved to operate. To start a booster club please: ● Contact your program head coach ● Schedule a meeting with Mrs. Daniels for a booster handbook orientation ● Complete all required filing forms ● Get Involved & Be Supportive
