04/05/2006 Some Society results so far � Study of attitudes to annoyance at airports showed that aircraft annoyance depends on the other factors affecting quality of life � Press : � a poor image of the ATM organisation seems to correspond to a small understanding of the ATC job… � a trend : Air Transport is seen as a mature and therefore risk- free industry where accidents are unacceptable and ATM organisations guilty � Organisational transparency in ATM safety shows how the need to build a common understanding of risk in ATM and safety results progressively replaces the illusion that safety ‘facts’ exist and need uncovering � Attitude to Change in ATM : first step examines the introduction of noise procedures at arrivals with controllers and pilots EUROCONTROL EXPERIMENTAL CENTRE SOCIETY-ENVIRONMENT-ECONOMY RESEARCH PORTFOLIO
