When you launch Explorer , the Malvern CI Library site should open. When you launch Chrome , the Malvern CI AW site should open (otherwise select Malvern CI in My Home tab). Click on Virtual Library on the left. This pathfinder is posted in the Red School House under Français. A. Search Catalogue for Print, Online and Media Resources Search for Malvern CI Library print resources and TDSB online resources. Search your topic: Versailles, Louis XIV, Nicolas Poussin, etc. Write down the Call Nos. and search the shelves. (Most of the books have been pulled out for you.) Watch the videos. B. Select Français Encyclopedia is a good place to start your research  with reliable, basic, general information.  Universalis Junior or Universalis eg. Cardinal Richelieu, Marc-Antoine Charpentier, mousquetaires, etc.

  2. C. Select Search In Grade, select 9-12 for secondary school level resources. Encyclopedia  Britannica  eg. Pierre Corneille, Madame de Maintenon, Français Girardon, etc. eBooks  Gale Virtual Reference Library  eg. Jean-Baptiste Lully, Andre Le Notre, Madame du Barry, etc. Database Articles  History Reference Center  eg. Louis XIV, Louis XIII, baroque, etc. D. Search the Internet For French resources, consider using Google France . eg. Louis Le Vau, la Comédie Française, le style baroque, Pierre Corneille, etc.

  3. E. Cite your sources (ie. your references ) You must document your sources of information to give credit to people for their ideas and works; otherwise, you are plagiarizing. The TDSB Inquiry Guides Réussir dans vos recherches @ la bibliothèque and  Research Success @ Your Library  provide formats and examples of MLA (Modern Languages Association) style of citation. The guides can be found on the library website and the passwords are in your Student Agenda. In Réussir dans vos recherches , page 63 has information on annotation  page 60 has an example of Ouvrages cités page  pages 75- for formats and examples of citation  In Research Success , page 51 has information on annotation  page 55 has an example of Works Cited page  pages 63-65 have formats and examples of citation  There are online citation creators on the library website: Inquiry  Citation  and select BibMe, Citation Machine, EasyBib or Noodle Tools
