  15. This semester course introduces common hand and power tool procedures commonly used when building wooden products. Emphasis throughout is on safety and principles of design. This course would be perfect for someone who… 1.Enjoys working with their hands and is creative 2.Wants to try something different 3.Enjoys solving practical problems 4.Girls can sign up too!

  16.  This course is offered in the second semester and should be taken only by those truly interested in the subject. Advanced machine processes are demonstrated and practiced. Students will be expected to design and produce a final project that utilizes the procedures learned throughout the course. You cannot take this course unless you are in the Introductory course first! Things to think about: 1. The woods classes allow you to make something you can be proud of 2. You get to use cool tools and machines 3. Wood is Good!

We do not have tests or quizzes.

This course has a community component per marking period Your class chooses an outreach project and works together to complete it In the past we have: • Donated Binders and School Supplies to a school in Rwanda • Collected over 700 lbs of food for the Somerset Food Bank • Donated over 600 cards to the VA Hospital for Veteran’s Day

  24.  Access HAC  Click on “Classes” at the top of the page  Then click on the “Requests” tab

  25.  Next to “Electives,” click on the “Edit” Button

  26.  Check 6 elective courses you may be interested in for next year (they are half year)

  27.  Change 3 selections to “Alternate to Any Course” from the drop down menu  You should have:  3 Requests  3 Alternates ▪ Requests have more priority than Alternates – these should be your top 3

  28.  Be sure to press “SAVE”  These Requests must be completed by:  Friday, March 6 th  No changes will be allowed after this date

  29.  If I select mine tonight, will I have a better chance of getting my “top choice”?  It is not a first-come-first-serve basis  Can I choose 2 Requests and 4 alternates?  You must choose 3 Requests and 3 alternates  Will I get 2 of my Requests?  You are not guaranteed to, though typically you will have 1 Request and 1 Alternate  Can I change my elective next year?  After March 6 th , no changes can be made to your selections, and no changes will be made once the schedule is made
