  1. Grade 11 Photography Research Project: Masters of Photography For this project you are to research a famous photographer and present your findings to the class. The project will have two major components: 1) Presentation 2) Critique Presentation – For the presentation you are to teach the class about your chosen photographer. The easiest and best way to do this would be to use PowerPoint as it allows you to show lots of images. Computers are available in the classroom for students to use if you do not have access to one at home, and the program is very easy to learn if you have not used it before. I will show you past examples of presentations by students so that you have an understanding of what is expected. Your presentation must include a full critique of one image as well. Critique - Your critique must be typed and follow the format taught in class. (Description, Analysis, Interpretation and Judgment). Please include an image of the photograph as well. Minimum Requirements a) Presentation – 5 to 10 minutes 12+ slides (Level 3) INFORMATION IS NOT TO BE CUT & PASTE FROM THE INTERNET!!! The presentation is to demonstrate your understanding of the photographer and Informing the class of their work. It should include lots of images, relevant & interesting information as well as a final slide stating your information sources b) Critique – two pages minimum (Level 3) I will be giving lessons on how to write critiques of artwork. Basically your written critique will follow four steps: 1) Description, 2) Analysis, 3) Interpretation and 4) Judgment. Following the critique you also must include a page with the image you are discussing. There are to be no duplicate selection of photographers. Don’t be disappointed. Give your selection to the teacher early. Please keep in mind that we will be studying and analyzing these works from an educational viewpoint, uncovering the deeper meaning behind the work. DUE DATE & PRESENTATIONS: _______________. Did they invent anything? Start any kind of style or influence? 4) Critique of one image: Your presentation must include a full critique of one image .
