DreamBuilders An interfaith community of teens and adults building homes for those in need ◼ Founded in 2002 at St. Mark’s, Highland ◼ Have touched the lives of over 360 people in need ◼ We work locally, nationally, and internationally ◼ Have worked in the Gulf region every year since 2006 ◼ Have traveled internationally (Panama, Guatemala, Ghana) ◼ Our reputation: ◼ Very organized ◼ Hard working ◼ Quality work ARC Home Renovation Project (2016) 3

Annual Project Selection Process ◼ September - November : Leadership team identifies candidate locations ◼ November - January: “Scouting” teams travel to any new locations ◼ January: Scouting teams present to leadership team and make recommendations ◼ Locations we consider: ◼ Disaster relief ◼ Impoverished areas ◼ Local needs (ARC, Ellicott City, military families, etc.) 10

Some Things You Should Know ◼ We are a faith-based organization ◼ Christian Service and Jewish Service ◼ Daily devotionals, prayer at meals ◼ We have an outstanding safety record ◼ We work hard and play hard ◼ No skills are required ◼ You will learn everything you need ◼ We are sticklers for quality! ◼ You will get a firsthand look at hardship ◼ It will be life changing 13

  14. Typical Mission Trip ◼ Sunday: Travel, settle in at volunteer center, safety talks, etc. ◼ Monday - Friday ◼ Workdays, typically 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, except one half day ◼ Evening worship & fun activities which depend on location ◼ Saturday: Cleanup, travel home 14

In its golden era " in the 1940s and 1950s, East Liberty exemplified a vibrant commercial center and a tight-knit residential community. Fuller Disaster Relief ◼ Affiliated with the Fuller Center for Housing ◼ Founded by Millard Fuller, the founder of Habitat for Humanity ◼ Fuller Disaster Relief travels to disaster recovery areas. Mission Trip Registration ◼ Online registration will be open first for members of the congregations that comprise DreamBuilders (Ascension, Christ Church, St Mark’s, Temple Isaiah, Trinity) ◼ Member organization registration period: February 23 – March 7 ◼ NOTE: Puerto Rico open to everyone ◼ Registration for other volunteers begins Sunday, March 8 NOTE: Registration for local projects is open to anyone until the Wednesday before the weekend 49

How to Register – ALL ON-LINE! www.dreambuildersmd.org • Before registering, gather necessary information:  emergency contacts, doctor + insurance information, date of tetanus shot, allergies • Go to our web site , click on “Trips” link • Fill in and “e - sign” Parent/Guardian Permission forms (Required for Teen Missioner under age 18) • Medical care, good conduct, costs, permission to swim, permission to post photos • Make Payments • Print and sign Liability Waiver (bring to mandatory meeting) • For Puerto Rico missioners, click on SBP Registration
