Artifacts/Database In 2017, 224 artifact were taken into the collection • The museum online database was also moved to • “PastPerfect” online software which allows us to update the database more regularly and thus give them public better access to our collection. Oxford Remembers Oxfords Own WWI Project The Woodstock Museum has partnered with the Museums, Archives, Libraries and Historical Societies in Oxford County to commemorate the 100 th Anniversary of World War One (2014 to 2018). The project is to have 100 special events/programs hosted throughout Oxford County over the 5 year anniversary of WWI. This will include 5 traveling exhibit based on the theme of WWI, 1 per year that the Woodstock Museum has created. Travelling Exhibit WWI Where Honor Leads We Follow This exhibit will examine the lives of the men and women in Oxford County who served in the Great War. This is the fourth exhibit in a series of five exhibits to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of WWI. The exhibit will touch on: the soldiers, their life in the trenches, the battles they fought, the nurses who served in the Medical Corps, the wounded, their honours and the ultimate price. It will also give context to the next exhibits as we follow Oxford through the war. This exhibit also traveled to: Ingersoll Museum, The Plattsville & District Heritage Society, Annandale NHS and Norwich Museum Total Attendance for this exhibit at all the sites combined = 22,302

  7. Rotary Exhibit This exhibit examined the history of the Woodstock Rotary Club and let the museum partner with a local service club. Canada 150 Exhibit: HS Quiz Question This Exhibit is based on excerpts from the book “Quizzical History” which collects all the questions and answers of a three-year history quiz contest about Oxford County that the Oxford Historical Society ran in Woodstock’s weekend newspaper. The questions touched on the areas interesting history from the early 1800s until modern times. The Life and Legacy of Sir Arthur Currie This traveling exhibit from Museum Strathroy- Caradoc showcases the extraordinary life and military career of Sir Arthur Currie. The exhibit traces the humble roots of Canada’s greatest military commander and celebrates his achievements and legacy as a source of national pride.

  12. • In 2016 and 2017 the Museum and the Art Gallery have seen an increase in attendance for education programming and in general visitation. • Leading to an increase need for cleaning at both facilities and more hours for contracted services and higher costs. • Sharing one staff member will allow for more consistency and cleaning capabilities throughout the day.
