  2. The French-China Committee, organizer of the Awards The France-China Committee (CFC) is a business club of French companies working together for their development in China. Expert in China for the last 38 years, the CFC has become a main actor in the Franco-Chinese economic diplomacy. Its objectives are to promote the French offer in China and the Franco-Chinese technological and / or investment cooperation that promotes common values and mutual interests for France and China. Why these Awards? The Innovation Awards for Franco-Chinese Teams were organized for the first time in 2014 as part of the initiative « France Technology - so French, so Innovative », led by the France-China Committee. The Innovation Awards aim to promote and reward innovative projects of excellence that have been jointly developed by bicultural Franco-Chinese teams. These teams may be from universities, French Grandes Ecoles and laboratories, or from research and development centers and/or French and/or Chinese companies. In this way, the whole chain of French-style innovation is represented. In France, innovation is understood as a constant chain from fundamental research to production and sale, via technological cooperation between science and industry. Cooperation in scientific and technological research plays a vital role in Franco-Chinese relations. Since 1978, our two countries have recognized the importance of research and have created several joint research structures, research networks and dialogue structures for industrial cooperation. This has been thanks to the bilateral agreement on scientific and technological cooperation, which was strengthened in 2013. Alongside this, more and more French companies are creating R&D structures at the heart of the Chinese ecosystem. The diversity of actions that these companies carry out (fundamental research, adaptation or development of specific products for the local market, innovation) forms part of a common vision to develop this mutually beneficial cooperation. Ambassador of the Awards The Awards are supported by Mr. Jean-Pierre RAFFARIN , personality at the heart of the France-China diplomatic relationship - Former Prime minister, Senator of Vienne, and Chairman of the Foreign Affairs, Defense, Military Forces Commission at the French Senate. 2
