  2. General description of the project Magnetism attracts ideas and technologies: moving from base research toward high-end nanotechnologies in permanent magnets, magnetic sensors and magnetic memory. A priority of scientific activity of the StrAU “Institute of Natural Sciences and Mathematics” (INS&M) is research and development of new advanced functional materials. The project is aimed at the development of advanced technologies for the production of new functional magnetic materials with controlled multilevel structure and wide range of physical properties, the presence of which predetermines the possibility of implementing breakthrough solutions in the development of key areas of world scientific and technological progress. The project is an implementation of the most important component of the StrAU INS&M scientific and technical activity, which ensures the coordination of scientific activity of many UrFU subdivisions groups and involves academic scientific potential. Within the framework of the StrAU INS&M educational activity, the project involves bachelor, master and postgraduate students majoring in “Physics and Astronomy”, “Nanotechnologies and Microsystem Technology “, “Standardization and Metrology”, and “Innovatics”. 2
