Agenda signed every night — even Fridays Neat & completed with effort Completed independently (assistance is encouraged once initial attempt has been made, but students should use resources to help first) Should not take longer than 45 minutes (excluding projects and studying) Missing/incomplete work must be made up on student’s time (one day given per day absent) Homework is not tracked in the online gradebook — I will email you if I notice a pattern of incomplete/missing homework
Read 25 books over the course of the school year Some specific genres and others are free choice Books must be 75 pages minimum (except 1 picture book) Books 250+ pages in length count as 2 books Students must give 1 book talk each quarter to their classmates Books read aloud to the class by Miss Wontor count (plan on 4) Have a prompt to respond to each week (due Friday) in composition book More information was sent home on a blue piece of paper on Monday (should be in your child’s take -home binder)
Students will have one day (for each day they are absent) to make up work. Getting & completing the work from the “Absent Work” file is the student’s responsibility Email me ahead of time and I will gather any work that I can to send with your child

Students will receive a letter grade for each subject on their report card. Parents and students are highly encouraged to check grades online once a week. (via the Kyrene website) 90-100 = A 80-89 = B 70-79 = C 60-69 = D 59 and lower = F

Please do not send birthday invitations to school Special treats or snacks for birthdays or other occasions are not allowed for the class other than during a classroom party We play Birthday Bingo and celebrate as a class
Volunteering in fifth grade is on an “as needed” basis I will email you as needed – at home project or in-class opportunities Sign Up Genius may be used too
