  5. Preparing for Success in Science

  6. GCSEs All students regardless of pathway (Combined or Triple science) will take 6 papers, two in Biology two in Chemistry and two in Physics. All exams for Combined science students are 1hr 15min and they are 1h 45 minutes for triple science students.

  7. Dates The papers are on: Biology paper 1: 14 May 2019 Chemistry paper 1: 16 May 2019 Physics Paper 1: 22 May 2019 Biology paper 2: 07 June 2019 Chemistry paper 2: 12 June 2019 Physics Paper 2: 14 June 2019

  8. Content There is a minimum requirement for maths based questions in each paper: - 10% in Biology - 20% in chemistry - 30% in Physics In addition a minimum of 15% of each paper must be based on a series of Core practicals (more on these later)

  9. Revision Guides Revision guides. Are still available through the school payment system online. Have all the key content. Students should be practicing the questions at the end of each unit. There are answers to check in the back of the books

  10. Flash cards 1. Students will be making their own in Masterclasses 2. The best are posed as questions on one side with the answers on the back. 3. There are good commercial versions available, but there is real value in the students using their notes/ revision guides to make their own

  12. Past Papers Practicing the activity you have to do in the GCSE is critical. There is no better revision than practicing past papers.

Go back and check your class book or texts, add additional points if needed.
