Preparation and revision – starting early is key In addition to the after school subject sessions, there are a number of support avenues you can pursue: Subject online support including: Google Classroom Facebook profiles Subject specific YouTube tutorials Past exam questions from specification websites Online Quizzes e.g. BBC Bitesize Electronic revision guides Revision guides which can be purchased through school.
Establish routines for the entire year (regular time for revision – each weekday) Help your child design a revision timetable (Include time for relaxation and hobbies!) Top Tips Discourage dependence (they should seek out support before asking for help) Encourage resilience (Praise effort as well as results) Encourage self management, organisation and responsibility (missed work needs to be caught up! Students should act upon any feedback given, if they miss homework, they need to accept the consequences)
We will be hosting parental support revision workshops Core and non-core sessions for each of the Core subjects These will take place in the lead up to the mock exams You will receive subject specific advice and revision skills critical to each of these subjects. We will write to you with dates!
