3. How did we get here? • 30 days of bargaining meetings since 15 th May • 32 nation-wide strikes, lightning strikes and work-to- rules since 19 th September • Precedent setting Employment Court case • Constant high levels of member engagement • Membership growth of 500+ members

The Ministry’s offer – 2018/19 SUMMARY • Transition to new salary ranges – effective 1 July o Move across on current salary or 85% of the band, whichever is higher • Performance matrix applied after transition to the new pay bands • 2% increase applied to all employee salaries (up to maximum of band) – effective date of settlement

The Ministry’s offer - 2018 PSA MEMBERS ONLY BENEFIT • $1,200 lump sum payment to permanent employees who are PSA members as at settlement date (29 Nov 2018) • $750 lump sum payment to permanent employees who join the PSA members between the date of settlement (29 Nov 2018) and the date of ratification.

The Ministry’s offer - 2019 TRANSITION TO STEP BASED SCALE • 1 July 2019 each salary band will be translated into 2% steps up to 111%. o Mid-point of all scales will increase by 1% o All employees translated to nearest step above their current salary, up to 111%. o Automatic stepped progression increases up to and including 109% o ‘Outstanding performer’ rating will receive a 2% increase

13. The Ministry’s offer - 2019 ACROSS THE BOARD • Further increase at 1 July as either: o An additional step if below 110% o 2%of their salary if above 110%
14. The Ministry’s offer - 2019 ADDITIONAL UPLIFT • 2 July 2019 - All permanent employees with a tenure of two years or more will move to at least 95% of their salary band
15. Other claims COURT SECURITY OFFICERS • Review the CSO PD within 3 months, AND o If banding of role changes move to the new band (J3) on at least 90% PIR, OR o If no change then a new fortnightly allowance will apply equivalent to 8% of the midpoint of the J2 band
16. Ngā Kaupapa • Te Haerenga Committee established o Funded by the Ministry o Provide input and support for the implementation of Te Haerenga, o The first Committee meeting will be held by 1 April 2019.

23. Timeline and next steps • Ratification meetings up to Xmas • Confirm result with employer – 20 th December • If agreed THEN signed CAs signed and come into effect o Paid out early February 2019 • If rejected THEN back into bargaining in the new year, probable continued industrial action
