Planning to Attend a College or University? UNC System Minimum Entrance Requirements 4 credits in English 4 credits in Math (Common Core I, II, & III plus an Go! Planning to Attend a College or University? Begin exploring 2 or 4-year university/college options and research the admissions requirements for the schools you are interested in attending. Take the ACT and/or SAT in the Spring of this school year and Fall of 2016. Schedule college visits and campus tours during the summer and fall. Look into finding a summer program, job or internship in your career field of interest. Create a resume of all activities and employment since 9th grade for teacher and counselor recommendations. All applications should be completed online through the college’s website , the Common App, or on CFNC. Most students apply to 3-5 schools (Reaches v Definites). Know the application deadlines BEFORE you apply and adhere to those dates!

Honors and Distinguished Honors GPA’s are recalculated at the end of the first semester during senior year, which determines Honors and Distinguished Honors graduates. Honors Graduates must have at least a weighted 3.33 GPA. Distinguished Honors Graduates must have a weighted 3.75 GPA or higher.
NC Scholars To be recognized as NC Scholars, students must have an unweighted GPA of 3.5 . In addition , they must fulfill all of the requirements listed on your Future Ready Core Checklist at the bottom.
ACT and SAT SAT and/or ACT scores are required for students attending a 4-year university. Check the testing websites for information regarding test dates and deadlines, registration, test practice, and how to request scores be sent to the universities. Promotion Requirements Promotion Requirements Class of 201 Class of 2016 To become a Senior, a minimum of 18 credits needed: Three English Credits (English I, English II and English III) The student must be enrolled in courses which, if successfully completed, will result in the fulfillment of their graduation requirements.
Graduation Requirements ⦿ You MUST have 26 credits Curriculum Units Courses to graduate. English 4 English I, II, III, and IV ⦿ 2 must be any combination Mathematics 4 Math I, Math II, Math III, and 4th course of courses in Foreign beyond Math III Language, the Arts, or CTE Science 3 Earth Science/ AP Environmental Science, Biology, and Physical Science/Chemistry/ Physics ⦿ All students must have 4 math credits to graduate. Spring 2016 Registration Log into PowerSchools through the Homebase Student Portal. Once you receive your transcript and FRC sheet with the remaining courses for graduation, review the Course Selection Guide carefully and CHOOSE WISELY. You must select 8 primary choices and 3 alternate choices (even if you plan to do Early Release). Then, enter selected courses into PowerSchools. You may be enrolled in an alternate choice, so select alternate courses you would like to take. Pick up and turn in Early Release Forms and Course Level Waiver Forms to your counselor. Once you’ve entered your courses in PowerSchools, please take Google Survey before you leave.
