Welcome to the Global Campus  You are part of a family of 42 schools  This means you have access to opportunities not available in other schools  You are in a global network of over 32,000 students  Each Nord Anglia school has different resources, and the Global Campus allows us to share those resources across all our schools  This will give you access to expertise across the family of schools and our external partners (e.g. Juilliard)  You have the opportunity to take some control of your learning  We are preparing you to be globally and socially conscious adults, exposed to all cultures, developed as global citizens September 2015 | Guide for Students 4

  8. Global Campus Online Global Campus Online:  6 key areas, which will include quizzes, online courses and one off activities. There are also forums to connect, share your experiences and engage in debate  There is a parent area, so your family can find out more without being logged in September 2015 | Guide for Students 8

  9. Introducing the Global Campus What areas will you find and how do they tie in to the curriculum? Here you can explore English Language and Literacy, improve and learn new writing skills, and develop your knowledge and appreciation of English Literature. Activities include the Global Library, the Creative Writing Competition, writing workshops, and a celebration of 400 years of Shakespeare, plus more exciting things to come. In this area you will be exploring many aspects of scientific discovery, such as conservation. It will also feature activities in Technology, Engineering and Maths. You will have the opportunity to learn more about coding throughout the year, to hone your computing skills. This area will develop your knowledge and understanding of the world and the countries your fellow students come from. You will become a more active global citizen, test your geography skills, and dive into history from around the world, including that of your own family!   10. Introducing the Global Campus What areas will you find and how do they tie in to the curriculum? This is where you can share your artistic talents and learn new creative skills in Music, Drama, Dance, Art and Design. Learn from experts who are teaching in our schools, and partner organisations who are world leaders in these fields. Bringing together the enormous range of languages and cultures across our family of schools, this area will help you to connect, learn from each other, and improve your linguistic skills. Look out for activities on festivals and celebrations, try some of the quizzes and learn more about the language of the month. Improve your physical health and wellbeing in this area, through learning more about your body, how it works, and how to take care of it. Share your own sporting achievements and have a go at beating your personal bests. Primary aged pupils will also be able to participate in the Mini Adventures programme.   11. Introducing the Global Campus What areas will you find and how do they tie in to the curriculum? This area is the one most influenced by you. Share your thoughts and ideas on the forums, and help us make Global Campus into the best resource it can be for you and your learning. While you’re there, don’t forget to introduce yourself to all your fellow Nord Anglia students around the world. Check this area regularly throughout the year to see what’s happening around our family of schools. Learn more about the next Global Event, and see what else is coming up that you can get involved with. Keep coming back to this area for the latest news on competitions and winners. We’ll be starting the year with the Creative Writing and Visual Arts Competition, and the Be Ambitious Challenge, but there will be many more to come. How to use the Global Campus  Log in to your school Moodle and have a look around the Global Campus Online  Find the forums and introduce yourself  Join some discussions about topics which interest you  Don’t forget the basic rules of Netiquette!  If you have a Primary Passport look out for activities which will earn you a stamp  Get involved with the first competitions:  Be Ambitious  Creative Writing  Share your own ideas for things you’d like to see in the Global Campus and ways we could make it even better  We’ll see you there…..
