QHLAC Presentation 2013-14 Season 9

  10. Our Awards Systems Explained- Best in Age Winner and Runner up • This is based on a points system with the first person in an event receiving 10 points, the second 9, the third 8, etc with all other children who compete receiving 1 point for finishing the event or recording a legal throw, jump, etc. Please note that the 10 points is not awarded for each heat in a running race, it is based on the best times across all the heats for that event for that age group on the night. Therefore the more events that you compete in each week and the more weeks that you compete can make the difference in the final tally at the end of the season. We have a winner in all age groups and runner up for most age groups and gender. QHLAC Presentation 2013-14 Season 10

  11. Award System Continued- Most Improved Winner and Runner Up • This is based on athletes improving their personal bests over the season on a regular basis. It is also a points system, so if you improve regularly across each event you will accumulate more points. Please note that an athlete cannot receive both a Best in Age and Most Improved award. If someone has received a Best in Age award the next person in order will get one of the Most Improved awards. QHLAC Presentation 2013-14 Season 11

  12. Awards System Continued- Encouragement Award • This is for the child that the age manager(s) believe deserves recognition for their efforts and participation and contribution to the group each week. This maybe someone who may just miss out on one of major awards above or someone who puts in a whole hearted effort every week and shows their enthusiasm for attending Little Athletics. For the larger groups, 2 awards maybe presented. We will also be handing out certificates to athletes • for all new season ending centre records. QHLAC Presentation 2013-14 Season 12
