Our mission Skånetrafiken is a part of Region Skåne. We offer sustainable travelling to everyone who wants and needs to travel within, to and from Skåne. Our public transport services are made up of city services, regional services and special transport services. All our bus, rail and special transport services are carried out by companies who are contracted through public tenders. The main tasks of Skånetrafiken are to develop, plan, procure, promote and market public transport in Skåne.

Facts • On average, almost 300 000 customers travel with us on a weekday, and 5 000 special service trips are carried out daily. • We run approximately 14 000 trips with buses and trains every day. • On average, an inhabitant in Skåne made 125 journeys per person in 2016. • Services are carried out by 110 Öresundståg regional trains , 69 Pågatåg local trains (soon to be 99), 600 regional buses , 400 city buses and 350 special transport vehicles. • We have 5 customer service centers and almost 200 sales agents. • In total, almost 6000 persons work with public transport for Skånetrafiken • Our bus and train services carry the eco-label Good Environmental Choice (Bra Miljöval) issued by the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation.
It all started back in 1999 In 1999, two countys (län) in southernmost Sweden merged to form Region Skåne and took over responsibility for public transport in the region.
