Grade 10’s must select a minimum of 8 courses which = 32 Credits Example: 1. Math 10 = 4 credits The 2. English 10 = 4 credits 3. Science 10 = 4 credits equivalent of 4. Social Studies 10 = 4 credits 8 full blocks 5. PE 10 = 4 credits = 32 credits 6. Language 10 = 4 credits 7. Woodwork 10 = 2 credits 8. Metal 10 = 2 credits 9. *Career Life 10A = 2 credits 10. Textiles 10 = 2 credits
What else is required? You must have 4 credits in an elective(s): a Fine Arts course or an Applied Skill in order to graduate.
How does KSS work? The year is split into two semesters: First semester: September to the end of January Second semester: February to the end of June Some courses are linear and run all year: September to June. For example Band 10 and English 10.
Some elective courses only run for a “Term” which is half a semester , so they are worth fewer credits. Ex. Woodwork 10 (Sept-Nov) = 2 credits

What’s next? *We will be sending verification sheets (confirmation of course choices) back to you. • Actual timetables will be distributed with your year end report card. • Late changes will be accepted up until July 3rd • No changes will be made in September.
