What are the Steps to Schedule? 1. View/Review this presentation in its entirety. 2. Have discussions with your family, teachers, and peers about classes and those that may be best for you as you continue high school. 3. Sign-up for classes and alternate classes via Infinite Campus
Why is this SO Important? We work very hard to provide meaningful schedules to our student body. Without this process being valuable to you, we cannot create schedules that meet student requests and needs. We ask that you take this process seriously and select courses that are meaningful to you and your future goals!

Anticipated test date October 16th, 2019 -Provides baseline data in Math, English Language Arts/Reading -Gives insight to educators and students on what kinds of supports student might benefit from on their pathway to college readiness. -Provides access to free personalized SAT practice through Khan Academy.

Honors Diploma Criteria The student who completes the college preparatory curriculum in high school must meet any seven of the following eight criteria: 1. Earn 4 units of English Honors Diploma 2. Earn at least 4 units of Math that include algebra I, algebra II, and geometry, and an additional course that will sequence. 3. Earn at least 4 units including 2 units of advanced Science courses. 4. Earn 4 units of social studies. If you have a goal of earning an Honors 5. Earn either 3 units of one foreign language or two units each of two foreign Diploma* upon graduation, please use languages. this slide to help you determine which courses are important for you! 6. Earn 1 unit of fine arts. 7. Maintain an overall high school grade point average of least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale up to the last grading period of the senior year; or 8. Obtain a composite score of 27 on the ACT (excluding the optional writing test) or a combined score of 1280 on the SAT verbal and mathematics section (excluding the optional writing section). Honors/AP Courses If you intend to sign-up for an Honors or AP course, please remember… • To consult with your current teachers about these courses being a good fit for you. • Remember these courses have a heightened rigor and move at a faster pace. • ALL incoming Freshmen will sign up for regular classes at this time. • Teachers from the high school will come to each middle school to talk with classes. • You will complete a form, including a parent/guardian signature, and turn it in to your current teacher. We will then register you for that Honors course.
Students and families interested in this College Credit Plus program should plan to attend the CCP meeting on February, 5 th at 6:00 p.m. at Ohio Dominican University. Selective Courses Some courses require an application or audition. Applications for these courses are available online in the Academics section of the LHS website and the high school teachers will send them to each middle school.. PE Exemptions PE Exemptions can be earned for two seasons of a completed school-sponsored sport! Students who want to waive the Physical Education graduation requirement based on athletic participation, need to ensure that the proper paperwork has been completed and submitted. If you should have questions about this, please see your school counselor.

How to Register All students will enter their course requests through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Registration will open February 4th. In order to do this effectively, please use the following slides to assist you.
