What is Study Island? Study Island’s online learning programs provide academic support through practice, immediate feedback, and built-in remediation to improve students’ performance in core skill areas. Teachers can track student progress and differentiate their instruction to continually drive student achievement.
Which subjects does Study Island provide support ? ELA (English Language Arts) (Reading and English) Math
Who uses Study Island? Currently at CMS: All 6 th grade students have accounts for activities/lessons and Benchmarks. 7 th grade students who demonstrated areas for additional support, based on the 2015 PSSA, have accounts for ELA and math activities/lessons. All 8 th grade students have accounts for activities/lessons
Benchmarking Tool Study Island Benchmarks are completed in ELA and Math twice a year. Benchmarks are different from the student lessons/activities. All 6 th , 7 th and 8 th grade students take the Benchmark in ELA; 6 th and 7 th grade take Math. Benchmarking reports show the teachers the areas of strength and/or weaknesses so the teacher can then plan for future lesson/activities to address specific areas.
