  4. HISTORY ISTANBUL AYDIN UNIVERSITY In Turkey, the universities are established either by the state or by non-profit foundation organizatons. Istanbul Aydin University (IAU) is a foundation university. “IAU” has been established in 2007. “ ABMYO ” is the pioneering vocational school of higher education of IAU, Which has been founded on September 29, 2003. “ABMYO” is the first vocational higher education institution established by a foundation in Turkey. “ABMYO” and then“ IAU ” have been established andspronsored by “AKEV” – Anatolia Culture and Education Foundation.
