When will we have a spring soccer league? Adequate enrollment
High School Soccer
We need you to make this happen!!!!
This plan of action is based on our conversations with • OHSAA, • US Soccer, and • organizations that have gone through the process.
Get out your pencils
STEP 1: Parents/students should establish a soccer club (similar to Spanish club or chess club) in each high school. Students in this club discuss soccer and have a common interest in the sport. This is not a soccer team. Soccer club will get the students talking about soccer and hopefully garner more interest.
STEP 2 Students play soccer in PCSL, and we track enrollment by each school district.
STEP 3 Once there are 20 ‐ girls/20 ‐ boys from New Lex or Sheridan, you, the parents, send a letter to the school board and Perry County Tribune inviting them to attend matches to see how much interest there is in soccer at the high school level.
STEP 4 Once the 20/20 goal is met, you, the parents, request to be on the school board meeting agenda for the month of November.
STEP 5 Invite Perry County Tribune to the school board meeting.
STEP 6 Present information to the board and plead your case for soccer to become a sport at the school.
It is ultimately the decision of the school board…. But, we need a united front!!
