PERFORMANCE ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS After meeting the requirements of the FHSP, students may also earn a Performance Acknowledgement for outstanding performance:  In dual credit courses (12 + hours with grades of 80 or higher)  On an AP Exam (score of 3 or higher)  On the PSAT, the SAT, or the ACT (based on specific scores)  In bilingualism and biliteracy (specific requirements apply)  With a business or industry certification or license (based on exam performance)

  11. HOW DO I GET IN  Students must apply to San Antonio College online at www.applytexas.org  Students must have a qualifying test score (SAT, ACT, or TSI)  Students must submit required paperwork by deadlines (no late applications accepted)

RESEARCH COLLEGES What is most important to look for in a college? o Consider the characteristics of the schools that offer your major: o Location o Size o Cost of school (Public vs. Private/In-State vs. Out-of-State) o Student Population o Class size/student/teacher ratio o List, compare, and VISIT those schools (College Website, BigFuture, or In- Person) o Narrow selection down to top 3 or 4 choices

TOP 10% RULE MUST GRADUATE FOUNDATION HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM WITH DISTINGUISHED LEVEL OF ACHIEVEMENT  Texas Public Colleges/Universities are required to automatically accept students who rank in the top 10% of their class.  But, students must apply, submit SAT/ACT scores, and meet all deadlines!  Take application/essays seriously. Could determine whether you get into the program of your choice. (Essays can determine scholarship awards)  After automatically admitting eligible Texas applicants each year, the university fills any remaining spaces in the freshman class through holistic review.  Exception from Top 10% Rule: UT Austin  Class rank to be automatically admitted: Top 6%
