COURSE SELECTION PROCESS  Students enter course requests and alternative course requests  Counselors review requests  Requests are tallied to determine demand  Master schedule is created  Student requests are run  Course conflicts are resolved  Schedules will be available to view online (summer)

  14. Procedures:  Students (parents) enter course requests and alternative course requests.  Be sure to select an English, Math, Science and Social Studies course to meet graduation requirements.  Guidance counselors review all requests.

  15. Go to CASD website Click on the Home Access Link

  16. Enter login information

  17. Students have their own Home Access login. (This is the only login that must be used to enter requests) Username: FirstName.LastName Password: Student ID

  18. Click on the “Classes” icon

  19. Click on the “Requests” tab

  20. Choose a department and click the “Edit” button

  21. Check the box for the desired course

  22. Don’t forget to save!

  23. Alternate Request Instructions:  If your first choice elective course does not fit in your schedule, alternates will be used. If you do not enter alternates, any course that fits your schedule will be selected.  Choose two 1.0 credit alternates and two 0.5 credit alternates.

  26. Select “ Alternate to Any Course ” from the drop-down menu

  27. Make sure to save your selection

  28. General Notes  Many courses have a symbol. This indicates that the course has a prerequisite – HOWEVER, that course may still be selected ! Please refer to the Course Selection Guide for course descriptions and prerequisite information.  Make sure that the total credits are 7.0

DCCC DUAL ENROLLMENT PROGRAM  Open to Coatesville HS students in Grades 10 through 12  Students can register and earn up to 60+ credits (Associates Degree) if they start in their 10 th grade year.  Dual Enrollment Application Process  Student submits DCCC application, Dual Enrollment agreement form and high school transcript to DCCC for review (application fee is waived!)  Applications are due March 11 th  Accuplacer test administered  Testing will be held on campus March 19 th and March 20 th during the school day  The ability of the program depends on grades, GPA, attendance, and the Accuplacer exam (more information will be shared during the breakout session).
