Public Notification of PFOS/PFOA Notification Level Exceedances
Division of Drinking Water Regulatory Update • Revised Notificat ion Levels (NL) for PF AS (August 22, 2019) • PFOS = 13 ng/ L lowered to 6.7 ng/L • PFOA = 14 ng/ L lowered to 5.1 ng/L • Response Levels (RL) for PF AS • PFOS + PFOA = 70 ng/ L • PFOS & PFOA individual RLs expected Fall 2019
SCV Water Response to Date • Received DDW Order to sample 15 wells for 4 Quarters • 14 of the 15 wells were sampled (one was out of service) • 1 well exceeded the RL and was taken out of service • 8 wells exceeded one or both NLs for PFOS and PFOA • Notifications were provided • All wells are being sampled for PFAS (41 in August 2019) • S CV Water PF AS S trike Team Formed • Bench S cale S tudy • Preliminary design and specifications for treatment • Identified and prioritized treatment locations • Public outreach
