  1. VO 2012 MJ Lallo Presentation Handout HO HOW TO TO W WIN RO IN ROLE LES IN ANIMATIO S IN ANIMATION CASTINGS! N CASTINGS! There are many winning ways to land a role in animation projects. But many talents loose out because of 6 6 minor and major auditioning oversites. I will show you examples of these 6 6 oversites by playing real auditions. And show you how to correct them. H 1. ANI BIBLE 2. ANI PIX OR DESCRIPTION 3. RELATIONSHIP TO OTHER CHARACTERS IN THE SCRIPT 4. ANI ACTION 5. ANI LEVELS OF EXPRESSION 6. MP3 SUBMISSIONS This presentation also takes you through the casting process from character sides, character descriptions and pictures, storyboards and story concept, to even the temperament of the people who will be making the selections of their cast from your auditions. We will also look at client gender, age, ethnic and "STAR" casting bias! 1. Participants will hear the actual audio of auditions for castings I have done. 2. Participants will guess who they think landed the role. 1

  2. 3.Then I will reveal to the participants who won the audition and why, from actual comments the writers, and developers gave me on why they chose the actors they did for their projects. 4. Some participants will be chosen to do live auditions and “secret” participants in the audience will then choose who they would pick for what roles and tell us why. _ Please describe why you believe this program or article will be of value to VOICE convention attendees. Actors need to be informed about the 6 minor pitfalls as well as hidden factors that are involved in a casting due to client preferences. Like how casting people and their clients think and the $$$ bucks, motivations, and even arguments that go on between several people who are making the voice selections. What is the ONE compelling reason/problem that will attract attendees to see/hear/read your presentation or article, e.g., what does it address, teach, or resolve? The fact that what goes on behind the scenes in castings are so rarely discussed openly and particularly from the standpoint of someone who experiences all sides of the casting process as a VO talent, as well as VO Casting Director and VO Director.
