Age: 46. How long I have lived in Ridgewood: Five years. Despite this, Ridgewood has still done well over the years on Money Magazine's "Best Places to Live in America." Interests and hobbies: Work, sports, travel, my kids. My favorite place to relax in Ridgewood: Can you define that term "relax?" A "perfect day" in Ridgewood would include: Swimming with my wife Christina and the kids in the backyard and having my friends over for a barbecue. The best-kept secret in the village: A former Major League Baseball commissioner lived here - Bowie Kuhn. The best thing about Ridgewood: The school system. http://www.northjersey.com/community/223577231_Village_Voices__Patrick_Dunican_... 10/15/2013

  2. Village Voices: Patrick Dunican Jr. : page all - NorthJersey.com Page 2 of 4 One thing I would like to change in the village: Oliver Wendell Holmes once said, "I like to pay taxes." I respectfully disagree with him on that one. The best part of my job: Having the privilege of working with the firm's clients, who represent leading businesses throughout the state and region, and learning every day from the brilliant and hardworking lawyers of the firm. The most difficult part of my job: Have you ever tried to manage 230 lawyers? The big decision I'm currently wrestling with: How will I be able to give away the firm's Jets tickets this year? I am most proud of: "Doing good while doing well." I have the privilege of overseeing the Gibbons Cares program, the charitable giving MARION BROWN/STAFF PHOTOGRAPHER program at our firm that donates more than $1 BUY OR LICENSE THIS PHOTO million annually to organizations that support Patrick C. Dunican Jr., a village resident for five years, the firm's local communities. is chairman and managing director of Gibbons P.C. Something that no one knows about me: I was featured in a chapter of Steve Adubato Jr.'s You Are the Brand for my focus on marketing and branding for Gibbons. We were the only law firm among 38 brands that were featured, including such companies and individuals as the New York Yankees, Starbucks, Bobbi Brown and Oprah. The quality I like best about myself: Irish heart. The quality I like least about myself: Irish temper. My motto: Just get it done! I laugh at: My kids' jokes. I am really good at: Public speaking, or so I've been told by the people I employ. http://www.northjersey.com/community/223577231_Village_Voices__Patrick_Dunican_... 10/15/2013

  3. Village Voices: Patrick Dunican Jr. : page all - NorthJersey.com Page 3 of 4 I admire: People who are excellent at what they do. One skill every person should have: Pride, discipline, and perseverance (did you say just one?) Something you'd never guess about me: I am a huge fan of horse racing. A favorite memory: Marching from the Prudential Center to Washington Park as the Grand Marshal of the 2013 Newark St. Patrick's Day Parade. It's hard to put into words the immense pride I felt marching past the New Jersey Performing Arts Center as hundreds of friends and family members from Gibbons P.C. cheered me on. Before I die, I'd like to: Appear in Village Voices. Check! Something that's been on my mind lately: The economy and its impact on the legal profession. Something that scares me: School safety. I will never understand: Pitchers batting in the National League. I wish I could invent: Calorie-free French fries. My guilty pleasure: Politics. My idea of happiness: Closing out the year-end books. My hero: Pope John Paul II. A talent I would like to have: Professional singer. My greatest regret: Not being able to put down the BlackBerry while on vacation. My favorite journey: Traveling to Ireland, the country of all four of my grandparents' births, doing things they only dreamed of, and meeting the Taioseach (prime minister). A person I admire: My dad, Patrick. He was the son of Irish immigrants and worked his way to and through Iona College. His determination, along with my mother Patricia's love and focus on family, made me who I am today. My most treasured possession: My degree from Seton Hall Law School. Something I wish you asked me: How do you get the attention of a large, unruly audience? http://www.northjersey.com/community/223577231_Village_Voices__Patrick_Dunican_... 10/15/2013
