Why is Vancouver Co-op Radio Important? Gives voice to the community, especially in the DTES. ● Supports local media creators and grassroots media. ● Provides an opportunity for people to produce their own shows. ● Independent voices from a large variety of people. ● It serves as an important role in our community. ● Discover new music/artists. ● Independent radio - love the music, talk shows and opinions. ● Inclusiveness. ● Radical, grassroots, eclectic, funky! ● It’s a community driven co-op. ●
How can we improve? Invite famous people from the Art, Political and Health sectors. ● Programming for Children run by Children. ● Partner with schools like VanArts and Langara to provide an outlet for aspiring ● broadcasters. More current affairs programs around issues relating to persons with ● disabilities. More community events and partnerships with other co-ops and ● organizations. More Hip-hop, Rap, etc. ● A show on science and nature. Some dramatic radio plays. ● Bring back local Mon-Fri 7am news program. ●
