Aims of Syllabus The revised Upper Secondary History syllabus aligns the value of History learning with the aims of the Desired Outcomes of Education as crafted by MOE by developing in students the qualities of a history learner. 2
Aims of Syllabus This is to be done through: • engaging students actively in historical enquiry so as to develop them into confident, self- directed, critical and reflective thinkers • acquainting students with an understanding of how the past has been interpreted, represented and accorded significance for different reasons and purposes 3
Aims of Syllabus • examining a range of sources critically in their historical context to reach substantiated judgements about the past • developing in students the ability to organise and communicate their historical knowledge and understanding through a variety of ways using different media 4

The artist drew this poster to warn the Germans not to support Hitler’s policies. L5 Infers purpose with awareness of context. 6 - Eg. The artist is not a supporter of Hitler’s rule. The artist is mocking/being sarcastic about Hitler’s rule because many Germans died during his reign. He is criticizing Hitler for causing the deaths of many Germans instead of improving their lives. 14
