  2. Academic Support Centers (ASC) Academic Support Centers’ mission is to enhance the academic achievement and educational attainment of all Southeast students. The Centers include targeted services for underrepresented populations (first generation, low-income, students with disabilities and U.S. ethnic minority students) and academically at-risk students. The programs span the educational spectrum from pre-college to undergraduate and graduate studies.

  3. Academic Support Centers (ASC) Southeast Missouri State University partners with community-based college access programs to help college ready students transition successfully into college and earn their degrees. Southeast offers academic support, mentoring and scholarships to students of who are eligible and participate in these programs. The awards are competitive and include an interview process.

  4. Educational Access Programs (EAP) MISSION: Educational Access Programs provides leadership in the administration of mentoring, structured interventions, and financial assistance programs for U.S. ethnic minorities. SERVICES: ▪ Advocacy for students and their rights; ▪ Development of and support for initiatives designed to recruit and retain students of color; ▪ Mentoring and financial assistance for eligible students; and ▪ Support and promotion of multiculturalism and diversity.

Educational Access Programs (EAP) Academic Support Centers Mentoring Program (AMP) The Academic Support Centers Mentoring Program offers students who demonstrate academic potential the opportunity to earn a foundation for college success through a professional mentoring relationship. A faculty or staff member serves as a mentor and supervisor in a campus or community work environment. Eligibility Criteria: ▪ 2.75 High School GPA ▪ Extensive high school and community involvement ▪ Successful interview and department placement ▪ Working 8-12 hours per week with a faculty/staff member

  7. Educational Access Programs (EAP) BRAND Academy BRAND Academy was established to promote, motivate, and encourage students to begin to create a professional mindset. . Students participate in a comprehensive curriculum that includes topics such as core professional standards, résumé techniques, social media etiquette, and soft skills/business skills.

Learning Assistance Programs (LAP) MISSION: Learning Assistance Programs provide direct services and resources through in-person and online programming to assist students in the development of critical thinking skills, and to support their educational goals and degree attainment. SERVICES: ▪ Assisting students to become active and engaged learners; ▪ Supporting students’ academic responsibility and success; ▪ Promoting critical thinking; and ▪ Providing retention-based programming and services.

Learning Assistance Programs (LAP) PROGRAMS: ▪ Academic Enhancement Program (AEP) ▪ Academic Improvement Plans (AIP) ▪ Collaborative Retention Initiative (ASC and SFS) ▪ College Success Workshops ▪ Financial Responsibility Seminars ▪ Supplemental Instruction (SI) ▪ University Tutorial Services

Outreach Programming Plan for College Initiative: Providing targeted services and support to assist students and families in navigating the admissions, financial aid, academic processes and procedures to enter, succeed in and complete college. Outreach Activities: Local and regional outreach efforts designed to connect potential and current students in the service region to resources such as; academic support services, internship opportunities, financial support and extending town-gown relationships.

  11. TRIO/McNair Scholars Program (McNair) Mission: Preparing academically promising students for graduate education Eligibility Criteria: ▪ Low-income and first generation college student ▪ Juniors or seniors ▪ Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better ▪ Interested in going to graduate school and pursuing a terminal degree ▪ U.S. citizen or permanent resident ▪ Successfully completing the intake/program interview process.

TRIO/McNair Scholars Program (McNair) ▪ Developing presentation skills and expertise at state, regional and national conferences ▪ Financial Literacy Programs ▪ Providing research skills through faculty mentoring, internships and both a winter and summer institute ▪ Providing student visits to graduate schools and symposiums ▪ Providing GRE preparation workshops

  13. TRIO/Student Support Services (SSS) Mission: SSS is a federally-funded grant program designed to assist a targeted population of students complete a post-secondary education. Eligibility Criteria : (applicants must meet at least one): ▪ Be a first-generation college student ▪ Have a demonstrated economic need ▪ Have a documented disability ▪ Must be registered with Disability Services
