  4. What will the results look like? KS2 test results will be based on a scaled score where 100 represents the new expected national standard. It’s important to note that this new expected standard is similar to the old Level 4b+, so it is more challenging.   15. Reading Comprehension  3 x 20 minute chunks (three passages which increase in difficulty).  Ordering, labelling, find/copy, short and open- ended responses are the types of questions they will face.  A range of largely 1 and 2 mark questions with some 3 marks.

Mind made up, Gaby pulled off her cardigan and tossed it onto her porch. ‘You’re out of luck, gato !’ she yelled. ‘My mom, master tree climber and cat rescuer, isn’t back yet.’ She rolled up the sleeves of her white shirt. ‘But until she is, you’ve got me.’ Gaby grasped the nearest branch and pulled herself up. ‘Gaby to the rescue.’ The cat meowed. ‘I am hurrying .’ The last time Gaby had climbed the tree was when she and her best friend, Alma, had challenged the boys to a water-balloon fight last summer. Up high was the perfect spot for a full-blown assault on the boys below. Those guys never had a chance. Gaby secured her feet and hands and climbed higher, until the cat was within arm’s reach.

  32. Arithmetic : • 36 questions • Non-worded questions that involve pupils using arithmetic skills but without applying reasoning skills. • A range of one or two mark questions. 2 mark questions are for longer calculation strategies using formal methods.

  33. Reasoning : • 2 papers of 35 marks each (40 mins) with around 20 questions on each paper. • Longer more worded questions, involving more multi-step calculations. • This involves more reading and application of skills to show a greater depth of understanding.
