CARES Act FTA Funding Overview ► Transit apportioned $25 billion to the following formula programs: o 5307 Urbanized Formula Grants: $13.74 billion o 5311 Rural Area Formula Grants: $ 1.98 billion o 5337 State of Good Repair: $ 7.48 billion o 5340 Fast-Growth & High Density: $ 1.70 billion o $75 million set-aside for FTA Administration and Oversight ► Funding apportionments released on April 2 nd ► Atlanta UZA received a total of $370.94 million across all Large Urban Programs ► State of Georgia received $521.64 million total (includes Atlanta UZA) 19

CARES Act FTA Funding Overview ► FTA’s priority for CARES Act funding is to support operational expenses associated with impacts of COVID-19: (Prevent – Prepare – Respond) o Operating costs to maintain service o Lost revenue due to the coronavirus public health emergency o Purchase of personal protective equipment o Payment of administrative leave of operations personnel ► Expenses eligible for reimbursement are those incurred on January 20, 2020 and forward ► 100% federal cost share (no local match required) 20

CARES Act FTA Funding – Next Steps ► ATL, as Designated Recipient, will continue working with ARC and Large Urban Program transit operators to distribute final program suballocations no later than Thursday, April 9 th ► ATL & ARC Suballocation Goals for Atlanta UZA: 1) Distribute funding to Large Urban Program transit operators with direct operational impacts and projected revenue shortfalls from COVID-19 2) Ensure funding is suballocated quickly and efficiently to allow immediate and effective use of funds for eligible activities 3) Ensure that suballocations helps mitigate long-term negative funding effects of COVID-19 on impacted Large Urban Program transit operators 21
